Our Purpose: Driving Policy Innovation and Civic Impact Across Africa

We are headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, but our impact extends throughout East and Central Africa. We offer thought leadership, technical advisory, and capacity support to governments, NGOs, civil society coalitions, and regional bodies.
Our Vision To be a trusted hub for innovative policy solutions and inclusive civic engagement in Africa.
Our MissionTo influence policies and build resilient institutions through evidence-based research, strategic dialogue, and community-focused initiatives.

International Policy Group

“We believe public policy should be a force for peace, justice, and opportunity—shaped not just by experts, but by the people it serves.”

IPG’s work is anchored on four key pillars that reflect our holistic approach to public policy and democratic transformation:

1. Policy Research & Analysis

We conduct rigorous, context-sensitive research that informs national, regional, and international policy decisions. Our policy briefs, reports, and strategic analyses provide the foundation that decision-makers need to craft effective, responsive, and forward-thinking policies.

2. Civic Engagement & Advocacy

We empower communities to engage meaningfully in public affairs. From grassroots voter education to civil society coalitions, we create platforms for inclusive dialogue, issue-based organizing, and sustained civic participation.

3. Peacebuilding & Dialogue

IPG facilitates high-level peace forums, reconciliation dialogues, and stakeholder roundtables in conflict-affected regions. We bring together diverse actors—armed groups, governments, traditional leaders, and civil society—to foster homegrown, negotiated pathways to peace.

Institutional Development

We support governments and civic bodies in designing and strengthening transparent, accountable, and service-oriented institutions. Through technical assistance, training, and strategic advisory, we promote resilience, rule of law, and responsive public administration.

While rooted in Kenya, IPG’s programs and partnerships extend throughout East and Central Africa. We have worked on cross-border policy dialogues in the Great Lakes Region, monitored elections in fragile democracies, and contributed to peace processes in areas of active conflict.

Whether influencing national policy or strengthening grassroots initiatives, IPG’s approach remains consistent: evidence-led, people-centered, and impact-driven.

Our Guiding Principles

At IPG, our work is rooted in integrity, inclusion, independence, and a commitment to peace and justice. These values guide our research, partnerships, and civic engagement—ensuring that everything we do is ethical, collaborative, and people-centered.
